ZTE Makes World's First Voce over LTE Call

At Mobile Asia Congress 2010, Chinese telecom equipment supplier ZTE and CSL Limited jointly demonstrated an VoLTE (Voice over Long Term Evolution) call based on IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) on November 17, the Telecomworldwire via Acquire Media NewsEdge reported on November 18. During the demonstration, the calls were made based on IMS by means of traditional 2G/3G mobile phones, providing the evidence of the seamless interoperability between LTE and existing 2G/3G networks, according to the same source. ZTE stated that the company also trial test additional services such as call forwarding and call waiting.
